2013 VOLUNTEER POSITION DETAILS:
Course Assistant – ARRIVAL TIME 6:30AM
Assist Mark with setting up the signs and cones along the course. This needs to be done by 7:15am. If you are able to stick around until 10am, you will also assist with course cleanup/tear down
Participant Check In – ARRIVAL TIME 6:45AM
You will be responsible for greeting race participants, crossing them off the list when they arrive, giving them their race bibs and t-shirt. If anyone needs to turn in fundraising money, you will direct them to the Fundraising Station
Fundraising Station – ARRIVAL TIME 6:45AM
You wIll be responsible for taking participants donations, adding them to any online fundraising amounts and, if applicable, giving them their fundraising prizes. Once the race has started, I will also need you carefully tally our total fundraising $$ so we can announce during the award ceremony a close estimate of total $$ that was raised for each charity. Once you are finished with your duties, please assist with the final duties of the silent auction area.
Silent Auction – ARRIVAL TIME 6:45AM
You will be responsible for setting up the silent auction items and watching over the items as people are bidding. At 9:45am, you will close down the auction, collect the winning bid money and distribute the items to the auction winners.
Dog Water Stops – ARRIVAL TIME 7:15AM
You will be responsible for cheering on the 8K runners and then once the 5K9 starts, keeping the dog water dishes full and handing out dog treats to anyone that wants them.
Main Water Stop – ARRIVAL TIME 7:15AM
You will be responsible for filling water cups (1/2 full) and handing them to the runners on the 8K course. Then once the 5K9 starts, filling and handing water cups to the human participants and also keeping the dog water dishes full.
Course Marshalls – ARRIVAL TIME 7:15AM
You will be responsible for ensuring the runners and walkers are following the course correctly. This is a very important job and you will need to remain attentive while all runners and walkers are passing your assigned location
Finish Line – ARRIVAL TIME 7:15AM
You will be responsible for setting up the post-race snack/water tables and keeping the water and snack bins full as participants cross the finish line. Please keep your area clean.
